Keeping up with God's exacting standards

"But Onan know that the offspring would not be his; so whenever he lay with his brother's wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. What he did was wicked in the LORD's sight; so he put him to death also." - Gen 38:9-10

"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." - Matt 10:34

I am reminded that I should do no wicked before God's sight, because it completely detests him so. In fact, my duty is always to maintain the highest standard for God, and that includes doing nothing slowly or that displeases Him the least bit. However, I also know that because Christ has died on the cross for me, I will no longer be subjected to destruction. All praise be to the Lord for this wonderful goodness!

PRAYER:
"Dear Heavenly Father, Your word is final, Your will cannot be bargained. Jesus Christ has also reminded me that it will not be easy to follow him, for the path to Eternity is fraught will trials and temptations. Grant me freely the grace Lord, then to do all things that pleases You, and the strength and courage to emerge out of each trial and temptation worthy of Your name. In Jesus' most precious name, I pray, Amen."
