"Then God said to him in the dream, "Yes, I know you did this with a clear conscience, and so I have kept you from sinning against me. That is why I did not let you touch her." - Gen 20:6
This verse brings such warm assurance to the children of God. If our heart is sincerely turned towards God Himself, then it follows that He will keep us from sinning against Him. But care must also be taken, because one's ignorance can often times lead one to sin against God too. And when it comes to sin, whether it is committed out of folly or willfulness, God will not tolerate any of them.
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." - Matt 6:33-34
This verse comes as a reminder to constantly seek God first; to do what is good and right. And to live each day on its own. I try to do adapt to a mentality as such, but it does become challenging at times. I think a majority of the human nature is pretty much orientated towards the future - like what we want to achieve in our careers in few years down , set up a family etc. It's not wrong to have such thoughts, but God has also said before that we are but like the dust in the wind: here today, gone tomorrow. So I think it is good to make plans and have ambitions, otherwise we'll end up being bummers all day; and at the same time, recognize and allow God to be the chief architect of our lives.
PRAYER:
"Merciful Father, Gracious Lord, help me to understand Your ways better to be able to discern between the things that will lead me to You and those to sin. Grant me the wisdom to do what is right, so that I will not base on my own judgment to prevent sin from occurring, because even that itself is futile.
Help me also to always keep my vision cast according to Yours in Heaven, for You have also said, 'where your heart is, there your treasure is as well.' Amen."
Postcript: I recall Pastor Melvin mentioned before during our first BMC session that there is a reason for the heart coming before the treasure. I don't recall the reason anymore, because when I try to read the reverse, ie. treasure before heart, it seems to make sense as well. lol.
