"but if the animals were weak, he would not place them there. So the weak animals went to Laban and the strong ones to Jacob." - Gen 30:42
Jacob was being oppressed by Laban's immense selfishness, and so God provided a way out for him through his dream (Gen 31:10) to allow him to own the stronger animals.
"No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved." - Matt 9:16-17
Like the patching of an old garment with a shrunken cloth, and the pouring of new wine into new wineskins, there is a time for everything. It is a reminder that God has a plan for us, and we cannot hurry nor delay it, except patiently await the time that he will reveal His plan for us.
PRAYER:
"Oh God, of the highest Mount, I can walk confidently with You knowing that You will always make a way, a more prosperous way, for your oppressed ones. Lord, would you also grant me the patience to do Your work each day as it comes. Lead me away from thoughts that are only my own daydreams, but help me to focus on works that will help to build Your Kingdom. Amen."
